WebNov 19, 2014 · I have the same processor as you, i5 4690k. I ditched the stock cooler for a corsair h100i with noctua fans. I idle at 22 degrees Celsius, while OC'ed to 4.5 GHz, and under most gaming loads i dont exceed 60 degrees Celsius. Only in synthetics do i hit around ~75. If you can get the same cooler, go for it, if not the dark pro will be awesome. WebOct 31, 2016 · The only thing you should do to OC your CPU is raise the Turbo speed to where you want it, there is no reason to have a continuous OC. Not sure why you teamed up an AMD card with an Intel CPU, go nVidia. Doug is using an older 3770K (still a fine cpu) and teamed it up with a GTX 1070 and has gotten great results.

They confirmed that an H60 on a 4690k at stock speeds should top out at around 55c when loaded using OCCT or something similar. They also said the washer method was worth a try (use plastic or rubber, not metal).
