WebMar 25, 2016 · A lot of Britpop and Grunge seems very dated now. Both genres have suffered from being ephemeral, sounding overblown and a tad shallow. Blur seem to have lasted better than say, Pulp. Nirvana better than Alice in Chains. But which genre, overall, has stood the test of time better? PolarBearEuphrates 25 Mar 2016 • edited WebAug 6, 2024 · Though the term Britpop is fairly loosely defined, it normally refers to guitar bands of the mid-'90s that were generally rock, indie, or alternative in style—Oasis, Pulp, Blur, Ocean Colour Scene, and Suede are all examples. The influence of '60s and '70s rock and pop was huge within Britpop.
